Design
There
are essentially three type of websites:
Basic Website;
Database Driven Website and Ecommerce Website.
- Basic Website
consist of web pages, graphics and links. Ideally suited for a company
who just want to present their services on the web.
- Database Driven
Website
is used when a large amount of information has to be presented. The
database is used for storing the information. The information can
then be changed quite easy whilst maintaining the look and feel of
the site. You can search the website for an individual item or a list
of items.
- Ecommerce
Website
is where business transactions can take place online. Information
is often stored on a database. Payment can be made online using credit
cards.
There
are 3 aspects to consider when created a website:
Design; Construction/Development
and Setup.
- Design
– The look and feel of the website needs to be established first.
- Construction/development
– Once
the website design has been agreed then the site can then be put together,
this includes the web pages with text, graphics and links.
- Setup
– When the website has been completed, tested and approved, then
it has to be Setup on a web server so that it can be accessed via
the Internet. Information has to be entered in search engines so that
the website can be found.
Before
you go ahead with a website you may want to consider:
A domain name
and also an Internet Provider/Web Hosting.
- Domain Name
– A domain name is a unique name for your website. To be able
to use this name you will have to register it. There is a small charge
of about £15 for two years.
- Internet Provider/Web
Hosting
– To be able to host your website on the Internet you will need
an Internet Provider. There are different kinds of Internet Providers.
Some are free for basic web hosting and some are expensive for a more
specialised area. The Internet Provider that you choose will depend
on what kind of website you require.

This will coast
about £200.00
We require 50% before
commencing and the remainder when the job is finished before making
the site live.
Note: To
keep your cost down, you will need to be very clear as to what you want
from your website. The more changes you make the more it will cost.
