Benalmadena Costa has become almost totally a tourist area with hundreds of bars, souvenir shops, discos and other outlets catering to the holiday trade. In addition to it's safe, sandy beaches and lovely promenade, the jewel in Benalmadena's crown is it's leisure harbour. With over 1000 berths, and more being built, it is now rated as one of the best harbours in the world.

In keeping with it's origins, Arroyo de la Miel has become a residential and commercial area. It is here that the most of the new residential building is taking place, with a mixture of new villas, town houses and apartment blocks. There is a thriving shopping area where almost anything can be bought, and an industrial area tucked away out of sight of the town centre.

Arroyo de la Miel boasts the train station, linking it to Malaga and Fuengirola, the cable car and Tivoli World. Because of these attractions many holidaymakers, staying in Benalmadena, do visit Arroyo although many do not realise that another jewel lies further up the hill at Benalmadena Pueblo. This delightful little town is full of narrow, winding streets, flower bed decked balconies and white washed houses and should not be missed.

Golf Torrequebrada – Since it first opened in 1976 this Pepe Gancedo masterpiece has been recognised as one of the most beautiful courses on the Costa del Golf. Venue for the Spanish Open 1977. Here, the tee shot is of prime importance.
